Finally, it is an excellent idea to look into the placement records for various doctoral programs. Knowing where the graduates of a particular program find employment is crucial to making an informed decision, as this can give one a general idea of one’s employment prospects after finding a degree.
In general, the more selective a program, the better its placement record is going to be. However, if one would be content teaching at a community college as, opposed to, a prominent private or state school, then it’s best to keep that in mind when determining which school to apply to.
Pursuing an English doctoral program can be an incredibly reward and stimulating progress.
